Homogeneous PVC flooring refers to a type of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) flooring where the material and pattern are consistent from the surface to the base layer. Made primarily from PVC resin, mixed with stabilizers, pigments, fillers, and other auxiliary materials, it is formed by high-temperature extrusion, featuring a uniform structure without obvious layering.
Structural characteristics
Material Consistency:The material, color, and texture are identical from the surface to the bottom layer. Even if the surface wears out, the base layer maintains the same appearance, eliminating concerns about the base layer being exposed.
Single-layer Structure:Different from multi-layer composite flooring, homogeneous PVC flooring has no separate wear layer or printing layer, consisting of a single homogeneous material with a high density (typically 1.6-2.0 g/cm³).
Thickness Range:Common thicknesses are 2.0-4.0 mm, and some special applications can reach 6.0 mm. The greater the thickness, the stronger the wear resistance.

Production process
Step 1: Put PVC raw material, stone powder, plasticizer and pigment into the calendar and calendered into floor slab
Step 2: Vulcanization molding by drum vulcanizer
Step 3: If it is for directional homogeneous sheet, then please move to step 4 directly. If it is non-directional homogeneous sheet, then we will need this step. We will need to repeat step 1 & step 2 again and again so the flooring patterns are all the same on the surface.
Step 4: Post treatment. Cut the flooring in customized size and pack.
Advantages
Homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring offers numerous compelling advantages, making it an increasingly popular choice across various applications:
1.Sustainability at Its Core
With environmental concerns taking center stage, the fact that homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring is 100% recyclable is a significant plus. By reducing reliance on raw materials and allowing for reuse, it aligns perfectly with the sustainable development trend. Once discarded, it can be recycled and transformed into new vinyl flooring products, minimizing waste and contributing to a circular economy.
2.Superior Hygiene Properties
This flooring type boasts excellent antibacterial and fungicidal capabilities, making it ideal for environments where hygiene is of utmost importance. In hospital operating rooms, for instance, where even the smallest microbial presence can pose risks to patients, homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring provides a reliable defense against bacteria, mold spores, and other harmful microorganisms. It outperforms traditional choices like ceramic tiles, offering a more hygienic and safer surface.
3.Enhanced Safety Features
Fire resistance is another key advantage. In contrast to materials like wood and bamboo flooring, homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring helps prevent the rapid spread of fire, safeguarding buildings and occupants in the event of a blaze. Its waterproof nature further extends the lifespan of the flooring, allowing it to withstand light moisture without damage. While mold can still develop if left untreated, spills and accidents can be easily cleaned up. Additionally, its skid-resistant surface ensures safety, reducing the risk of slips and falls, especially in high-traffic areas.
4.Practical and Cost-Effective
Being lightweight, homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring eases the load on buildings, enhancing their structural integrity. Its durable and scratch-resistant surface can endure heavy foot traffic, making it suitable for busy locations such as airports and train stations. The material’s resilience provides comfort underfoot, keeping users warm in winter and cool in summer, which is particularly beneficial for children, the elderly, and pets. Installation is a breeze with the roll format, saving both time and labor costs. Maintenance is also straightforward and inexpensive, which is a huge advantage for large buildings where cleaning expenses can quickly add up.
5.Aesthetic Versatility
One of the most appealing aspects is its customizability. Unlike wood, natural stone, or bamboo, homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring can be printed with a wide range of luxury patterns and stylish designs, allowing for endless aesthetic possibilities. Whether aiming for a modern look or a classic style, it can be tailored to suit any design concept.
6.Budget-Friendly Option
Last but not least, compared to materials like wood, bamboo, and carpet, homogeneous vinyl sheet flooring comes at a lower cost, offering an affordable yet high-quality flooring solution for various projects.
Applications
1.Medical Facilities:Hospital corridors, operating rooms, wards (antibacterial, easy to clean, resistant to disinfectant corrosion).
2.Educational Institutions:School classrooms, laboratories (wear-resistant, slip-resistant, environmentally friendly).
3.Public Spaces:Airports, subway stations, shopping malls (high traffic, wear-resistant).
4.Industrial Sites:Factory workshops, warehouses (resistant to heavy pressure and chemicals).
5.Commercial Offices:Office buildings, conference rooms (aesthetically pleasing, low maintenance cost).
Installation and maintenance
1.Installation Key Points:
The base layer must be flat and dry (moisture content ≤3%), and it can be installed with adhesive (special PVC glue) or lock-in systems.
Avoid high-temperature environments (≤40℃) to prevent material softening and deformation.
2.Maintenance Tips:
Clean daily with a damp mop, and use neutral cleaners for stubborn stains.
Regularly polish (every 1-2 years) to restore surface gloss.
Avoid scratches from sharp objects, and use cushioning for heavy objects.
