What is heterogeneous vinyl sheet?

Multi-layer Composite PVC Flooring is a type of polyvinyl chloride flooring composed of multiple layers of materials with different functions, combined through hot pressing or adhesive processes. Its typical structure generally includes a wear layer, printing layer, base layer, and backing layer. Each layer works in tandem to endow the flooring with diverse performance and appearance.

structure

Wear Layer: Usually a transparent PVC film coated with aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) or polyurethane (PU), with a thickness ranging from 0.1 - 0.5mm. It is crucial for determining the floor's wear resistance and can be classified into residential and commercial grades.

Printing Layer: Utilizes PVC film or ink printing technology. Through digital printing, it simulates a wide range of patterns, such as wood grain, stone texture, and fabric patterns, and even supports personalized customization, providing diverse visual effects for the floor.

Base Layer: Commonly made of calcium-plastic base materials (a mixture of PVC and calcium carbonate) or glass fiber grids. Its main function is to enhance the structural strength of the floor, prevent deformation, and ensure stability.

Backing Layer: Constructed from PVC foam layers or fiber felts, which can improve the foot comfort of the floor while enhancing slip resistance and cushioning effects.

Performance advantages

1.Diverse Color and Pattern Options: Thanks to the versatile designs of the printing layer, composite PVC flooring can realistically mimic the textures of natural materials, meeting the requirements of various decoration styles, from minimalist modern to retro luxury.

2.High Cost-effectiveness: Compared with natural materials such as solid wood flooring and marble, composite PVC flooring has lower raw material costs. Its convenient installation can significantly reduce decoration costs, and the maintenance expenses during its service life are also relatively low.

3.Convenient Installation: Common installation methods, such as click-lock and self-adhesive types, do not require professional construction teams or complex tools, greatly shortening the construction period. Glue-bonded installation is suitable for commercial venues with higher stability requirements.

4.Comfort and Safety: The backing layer of some products has excellent elasticity, effectively cushioning the impact of footsteps and reducing walking fatigue. The anti-slip surface design provides reliable friction even in wet environments, reducing the risk of slipping. Moreover, the PVC material itself is waterproof and moisture-proof, making it applicable to areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.

5.Environmental Protection and Health: High-quality composite PVC flooring does not contain harmful substances such as formaldehyde and heavy metals, complying with strict domestic and international environmental standards, such as China Environmental Labeling Product Certification and the EU REACH Regulation, ensuring indoor air quality and human health.

Application

1.Residential Decoration: Widely used in living rooms, bedrooms, children's rooms, and other spaces. Due to its aesthetics, comfort, and easy cleaning properties, it can create a warm and safe living environment for families.

2.Commercial Venues: In commercial spaces such as offices, shopping malls, hotels, and cafes, composite PVC flooring, with its rich patterns, low maintenance costs, and excellent durability, can enhance the style of the space while meeting the requirements of high-frequency use.

3.Education and Healthcare Sectors: In places like kindergartens, school classrooms, hospital wards, and nursing homes, which have high requirements for floor slip resistance, environmental protection, and antibacterial properties, composite PVC flooring's features precisely meet these needs, ensuring the safety and health of special groups.

4.Light Industrial Sites: In light industrial environments such as exhibition halls, storage areas, and laboratories, composite PVC flooring can withstand certain heavy pressure and has good anti-stain capabilities, facilitating daily cleaning and maintenance.

5.Sports Venues: Some composite PVC flooring with elastic buffer layers can meet the professional requirements of sports venues such as gyms, dance studios, and yoga studios, providing a comfortable and safe sports surface for athletes.

Installation and maintenance

Installation Process

1.Subfloor Treatment: Ensure that the installation subfloor is flat, dry, and clean, with a moisture content controlled within 5%. Remove debris and protrusions, and level the surface if necessary.

2.Laying Methods:Click-lock: Connect the click-lock joints of the floorboards, which is easy to operate, provides a tight fit, and is suitable for large-scale rapid laying. It also facilitates disassembly and replacement in the future.

3.Self-adhesive: Peel off the protective film on the back of the floorboard and directly stick it to the subfloor, suitable for small-scale laying or temporary use scenarios.

4.Glue-bonded: Apply special PVC floor glue to the subfloor and then lay the floorboards, commonly used in commercial venues with high traffic and strict stability requirements.

5.Detail Processing: Leave a 10 - 15mm expansion gap at the edges of the floor during laying to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction. Finish the edges at doorways, corners, and other positions to ensure aesthetics and durability.

Maintenance Key Points

1.Daily Cleaning: Use a dry or slightly damp mop for cleaning, promptly removing dust and stains, and avoid water accumulation for long periods.

2.Stain Removal: For common stains, wipe with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaner. For stubborn stains, use specialized PVC floor cleaners. Avoid using sharp tools such as steel wool to prevent scratching the wear layer.

3.Regular Maintenance: It is recommended to perform waxing and polishing 1 - 2 times a year, which can effectively enhance the wear resistance and gloss of the floor surface and extend its service life.

Purchase Guide

1.Wear Layer Thickness: Select an appropriate wear layer thickness according to the usage scenario. For residential use, it is recommended that the wear layer thickness is not less than 0.2mm. In commercial venues with high traffic, choose a wear layer of 0.3mm or more to ensure long-term wear resistance.

2.Environmental Protection Indicators: Request merchants to provide environmental protection test reports from authoritative institutions, and confirm that the floor's formaldehyde emissions, heavy metal content, and other indicators meet national standards (such as GB 18586) or international standards (such as the EU REACH Regulation).

3.Slip Resistance: Pay attention to the floor's slip resistance coefficient, especially for public areas or wet environments. Ensure that its wet friction coefficient meets relevant standards (e.g., ≥0.5 as specified in the DIN 51130 standard).

4.Splicing Quality: For click-lock flooring, test the tightness of the joints on-site, and check for issues such as excessive gaps or warping to ensure the overall effect and user experience after laying.

5.Weather Resistance: If used outdoors or in areas with direct sunlight, choose composite PVC flooring with anti-ultraviolet (UV) functions to prevent problems such as fading and deformation caused by sunlight.
